English Lessons

Dimitri Lyamind is The Children's Voice Foundation's Director of Education. Dima is 27 years old and has a degree in English, French and Foreign Literature from Dragomanov National Pedagogical University in Kiev, Ukraine. Dima is a committed believer and attends Calvary Chapel Church (non-denominational) in Kiev with an American pastor. English classes are conducted twice weekly at the Ivankiv orphanage where Dima is developing a program with emphasis on fun! This is essential as we are competing with playtime for the children’s after-school attention. Conversational English, simple bible verses, and movies in English on a portable DVD player are features of the lessons. He also serves as a positive male role model, something sadly lacking in the lives of most orphans.
