The missionaries arrived safely in Ukraine, early this morning. All of their luggage, boxes of clothes, gifts, and toys for the orphanage arrived in tact also. They left the airport at around 10:00 AM Alabama time (6:00 PM Kiev time) and headed for the orphanage.

The missionaries are all doing well. The weather is cool and rainy. The orphanage director and the children were very excited to see them and the gifts we sent were well received and much needed.  Ted delivered the message in a service this morning and two children came forward during the invitation.  Jennifer commented that it has been wonderful eating with the children and seeing their every-day lives.  Rachel has not been impressed with the food (lots of fish soup, potatoes etc.). She says they are all adorable.  Tomorrow they are going to  meet a Preacher and see a potential transition home.  Please keep the group in your prayers.

Monday September 27, and Tuesday September 28, 2004

The group visited the potential transition home and said it was exactly what they were looking for. They were able to meet with the Baptist minister who is already restoring the facility. The building is in need of a new roof, but will currently accommodate approximately 20 children. The meeting could not have gone better. The Minister shared his vision for the facility which was to provide children a place to live when released from the orphanage system where they can be ministered to, taught a trade, and further educated. Our group was excited to hear this as that is the mission of The Children's Voice.

Wednesday September 29, 2004

The group visited the city, and did some site seeing. Wednesday afternoon the group left the city and journeyed back to the orphanage.
