About The Children's Voice Chorus (CVC)

For 12 years, The Children's Voice Chorus has united and empowered diverse young people in Miami with artistic and life skills through experiences in vocal music. What began as a small choir of 21 singers has grown to serve over 250 children and youth with programs in Palmetto Bay, Florida City, South Miami, and North Miami. Dedicated to making music accessible to all, regardless of zip code, CVC provides free or low cost choral and early childhood music education to 80% of its participants. CVC’s vision is that the young people it serves will make the world a more beautiful place by sharing their unique gifts and practicing empathy and understanding toward others.

 

Position Description

With the support of the CVC team, the Development Manager will focus on building capacity for the organization so that more young people in Miami can experience the power of music in their lives. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate and individual donors, and manages an active donor portfolio of 200+ donors while building a pipeline of potential new donors. The Development Manager reports directly to the Founder & Artistic Director.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years experience in a nonprofit setting (experience in youth arts or education a plus)

  • A track record of success with the planning and execution of fundraising events and personal solicitations

  • A track record of building donor relationships and history of major gifts ($1k or higher)

  • Computer literacy required; extensive experience in Word, Excel, email, Google Workplace suite programs, and donor or CRM management software (Network for Good experience a plus)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Founder & Artistic Director and Board of Directors to create and implement strategies to increase CVC's current individual and corporate giving.

  • Collaborate with the Founder & Artistic Director and Board of Directors to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors. 

  • Design, implement and manage a minimum of one fundraising event and three online giving campaigns alongside the CVC team.

  • Develop donor communications, maintain data integrity, and create reports using Network for Good.

  • Implement development plan, conduct prospective donor meetings, and steward existing donors through frequent communications and relationship building with support from the Founder & Artistic Director.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for concerts and events.

This is a part-time, hybrid, position paying a yearly salary of $40k. This position includes health benefits and the potential to grow into full-time after the first year.
